Ilana Blumberg approaches her work from every angle at once, as a brand, an artist, a collaborator, and someone deeply invested in the personal. Her knitwear practice, built around natural fibers and forms, is rooted in something simpler than that. A belief that the best knitwear is the kind that pulls you in, quality felt through wear, through season, through the weight of it in your hands on a cold morning. Her hats, sweaters, and accessories carry that quality, each one made with a care for craft and detail that reveals itself not immediately but over time.

The Taylor Hat in particular aligns with that vision at its core. It’s built from a blend of 50% Extrafine Merino Wool, 38% Mohair, and 12% Silk, three fibers that each bring something distinct. The Merino is soft and warm without being heavy. The Mohair adds a slight halo and holds the structure. The Silk runs through it quietly, giving the surface a depth that you notice more the longer you look. It is the kind of blend that takes time to appreciate, which is precisely the point.

What makes it so special is its limited nature. A piece produced in limited quantities carries a different weight than something mass produced, not because scarcity makes it precious, but because the care that goes into each one.

The creative direction alongside Taylor Russell brings all of those components together. The images feel warm and inviting, a visual language that aligns naturally with what Ilana has built. She wears the hat the way it was made to be worn, and that naturalness emphasizes the importance of expression. How materials are showcased, it can usually be presented as just a piece of clothing, but there’s so much more to the story than that.
